Mt Kinabalu International Climbathon has been one of Sabah’s iconic events for decades. After 35 years of organizing the event, we believe the original objective of promoting our beloved mountain and the surrounding Kinabalu Park has been achieved. It is now very popular with the status of World Heritage Site and will remain preserved taking care of the climbing limit and building of structures.
Therefore, with heavy heart we would like to inform that we will no longer be organizing the Climbathon in the future. The Climbathon remains a patented brand and will be used in future events on another venue. We are proud to have organised this unique race and thank all athletes locally and from around the world who have supported us and visited Sabah all these years.

We would like to express our sincere appreciation to the volunteers and staffs of Sabah Parks, mountain guides, Amateur Radio Society, Civil defence department, RTM, Sutera Sanctuary Lodges, Spritzer Mineral Water, K2 Drinking Water, St. John Ambulance, Sabah Amateur Athletic Association and all the various organisations that have contributed to the success of the Climbathon through the years.
We are proud to have organised this unique race and we would like to thank all athletes from around the world who have supported us and visited Sabah all these years.
