Formed in 2014 in Menggatal, the band originally went by the name Electro Summer 4. But as their sound and vision evolved, so did their name, leading to the birth of Crying Session at 7 (CSA7). This name change symbolized a fresh chapter in the band’s musical journey and a shift in their creative direction, reflecting their growth as artists.
What sets CSA7 apart is their unique lineup. The trio is made up entirely of siblings: Marcel Simeon G. Gangkat (guitarist and lead vocalist), Zenowalter Simeon G. Gangkat (bassist), and Oliver Simeon G. Gangkat (drummer). This family dynamic brings an undeniable chemistry to their music, creating a bond that resonates through every note.
Their latest track, Hino Kopo Koupusan, marks a significant milestone in their musical journey. Written and composed by Julius Ebin, this song presents a challenge to CSA7: to craft a piece in the Dusun language, but with a modern indie rock twist.
