Kota Kinabalu, 3 February 2025 – Set to be the preferred breaking-of-fast venue once again, Le Meridien Kota Kinabalu is featuring more than 300 dishes in its dinner buffet selections as well as live cooking stations and delectable dessert throughout Ramadan in its all-day dining restaurant, the Latest Recipe.
Bringing the theme “Meriahkan Ramadan Bersama Le Meridien Kota Kinabalu” or loosely translated as enliven Ramadan with Le Meridien Kota Kinabalu, the hotel hopes to narrow the gap between family and friends and encourage closer relationships while dining together, based on the expression “a family that eats together, stays together”.
Led by the hotel’s executive chef, Abraham bin Lingcorn with support and assistance from his executive sous chef Kelvin Kilin, chef de cuisine Bobby
Melvin and banquet chef Juma Abudin, the buffet is a reflection of their combined years-long experiences working in nationally and abroad, creating a fusion of East-West Malaysian and original Sabahan cuisines.
The menu highlights for this year are the sour and spicy oxtail with sour brinjal, chicken cooked with Borneo wild ginger paste, fried sliced giant squids, big pot tom yum and sweet sour soup, lamb roasted in 30 herbs and spices, , prawns sautéed in creamy fermented durian sauce, curried smoked tuna, northern style herbs-spiced meat bone soup and many more!
The hotel’s unique feature of ‘Kedai runcit uncle Suresh’ or uncle Suresh’s mini grocery store continues to offer a popular yesteryear children highlight such as the ‘tikam-tikam’ or the lucky random pick game which gives the children an opportunity to win a prize of either toys or snacks. For the children of the new generation, it is an exhilarating experience for them and for the older generation, it is a nostalgic walk down memory lane.

The Meriahkan Ramadan Bersama Le Meridien Kota Kinabalu buffet is available from 2-30 March 2025 for breaking of fast at Iftar until 10.30pm at RM178nett per person. The 5-days voucher deal is available for dining from 2-6 March 2025 at RM140nett per person while Club Marriott members and the Early Bird vouchers are priced at RM150nett per person (early bird vouchers are available until 20 February 2025). All children between the ages of 5-12 years old enjoy a flat rate of RM60nett per child.
Takeaways that serve up to four persons is also available with the ‘Ramadan di Hati’ set priced at RM388nett per set and includes the renowned gearbox soup, Le Meridien Kota Kinabalu chicken ‘bubur lambuk’ and roasted lamb among others.
For group dining or banqueting, the dome set is available at RM130nett per person for Ramadan Al-Falah package with a minimum booking for of persons. The buffet options are available at RM150nett per person for the Ramadan Al-Mubarak package and RM 138nett for Ramadan Al-Kareem package, both with a minimum booking of 70 persons.
