Savour The Spirit Of Ramadan: Sicc Set The Stage With A Delightful Ramadan 2025 Food Preview

Kota Kinabalu, 10 January 2025 — SICC’s renowned Ramadan Buffet, proudly holding the prestigious title from the Asia Book of Records for the “Maximum Dishes Prepared by International Cuisines 2024,” will make its much-anticipated return this year. Building on last year’s success, this year’s buffet promises an even more impressive selection of culinary delights, offering an extraordinary feast for the senses.

The Ramadan Preview offers a tantalising selection of some of the 850 authentic and beloved Asian dishes that will be served during this year’s Ramadan buffet. From rich, aromatic Asian staples to international classics, the SICC Ramadan Buffet will continue to offer an unforgettable dining experience for all.

The preview promises to take guests on a gastronomic adventure like no other, featuring the rich, aromatic flavours of Chinese, Filipino, Japanese, Thai, Indonesian, South Korean, Tex-Mex, German, and Bruneian cuisines. A particular highlight is the royal-inspired DiRaja Menu, carefully crafted to showcase the finest tastes, including Gulai Udang dan Nenas (Prawn and Pineapple Curry), Udang Galah Masak Diraja (Royal Prawn Dish), Ayam Masak Cencaluk Tunku Azizah (Chicken with Cencaluk Tunku Azizah), Stew Lidah Lembu (Beef Tongue Stew), Kurma Daging dan Rebung Istana Perlis (Perlis Palace Beef and Bamboo Shoot Curry), and Bamia Kambing (Lamb and Okra Stew). For those with a sweet tooth, the dessert section will delight with indulgent treats such as Pudding DiRaja, Nagasari, Bubur Asyura, and Halwa Muskat (Nutmeg Halwa).

The SICC culinary team, led by award-winning Malay Cuisine Chef Muhammad bin Hussin, has delivered a menu that reflects both innovation and reverence for heritage. Chef Muhammad, whose expertise in Malay cuisine has earned accolades, shared his thoughts on the inspiration behind the menu. “This year, we wanted to create a dining experience that resonates with the deep-rooted traditions of Ramadan while also offering new and exciting dishes to surprise our guests. Each dish tells a story – one that evokes memories of home-cooked meals shared with loved ones. This is our way of celebrating the spirit of togetherness and bringing joy to the table.”

Datuk Dr. Hajah Rosmawati Haji Lasuki, Chief Executive Officer of SICC, also expressed her enthusiasm about this year’s food preview, stating, “Ramadan is a time of reflection, togetherness, and compassion. Our food preview this year is designed to embody these values, offering a place for families and communities to gather, as well as the opportunities connect and network with business partners, while sharing the joy of breaking fast. We are proud of our team’s hard work, and we hope that our guests will enjoy the flavours that celebrate both our heritage and the essence of togetherness.”
