Somewhere in the heart of Kiulu Valley lies a beautiful paradise, with greenery that seems to stretch for miles and miles.

The team’s first thought was that it’s going to be a quick and simple trip exploring Zip Borneo, a team-building spot in Kiulu Valley.

But somewhere between arriving at the riverside and putting on a harness, the day took an unexpected turn indeed!

Zip Borneo: A Refreshing Change of Scenery

Located about an hour from Kota Kinabalu, Zip Borneo immediately stands out from the usual corporate retreat spots. This spot lies under the open skies, is surrounded by tall trees, and is just right next to the steady flow of the Kiulu River.

As pioneers of the first double cable river zip-line in Borneo, Zip Borneo is known for this signature activity. That said, we were pleasantly surprised when the team announced that we’ll be having a go at this activity that day.

Once we strapped on our harness and had our safety briefing, we were set to climb the platform that gave us a unique view of the area the higher we climbed the stairs. One might even have the jitters, especially if one is scared of heights, but not to worry! The team always ensures safety first above everything else.

Flying Across the River

The adrenaline rush was instant.

One moment you’re standing still, and the next you’re gliding across the Kiulu River, suspended between two sides of jungle. Below, the water moves steadily, reflecting the sky in flashes between ripples.

From above, everything looks different. Wider. Calmer. Almost still.
