KOTA KINABALU, 23 FEBRUARY 2025 – The CULT Rooftop Meet-Up, held from 3 PM to 6 PM at Foh Sang Multi-Storey Car Park on Sunday afternoon, successfully brought together the motoring community in a relaxed and harmonious atmosphere.
The event received official approval from the Kota Kinabalu City Hall (DBKK) and was monitored by the authorities to ensure compliance with all established guidelines. We wish to emphasize that all aspects of the event, including safety and the use of public facilities, were carefully considered.
The event was further enlivened by the presence of Eliza Leong, Head of Division for Luyang N.21, and Beverley Koh, Vice President of STAR Sabah and Head of Division for N.28 Kawang, who attended as Guests of Honour (GOH). Their attendance reflects strong support for initiatives that promote a responsible and positive motoring culture.
In response to the report by Sabah News dated 24 February 2025, which stated that the event was “criticized” and that DBKK was urged to take action, we wish to clarify that these allegations are baseless. The event was conducted in a controlled manner, without any incidents that disrupted public facilities or the surrounding peace.
Besides promoting a healthy motoring culture, this event also supported DBKK Holdings’ initiative by distributing promotional flyers for the Smart Parking Apps, aimed at facilitating public parking payments and management more efficiently.
During these meaningful three hours, participants not only exchanged insights into the motoring world but also strengthened camaraderie in a positive environment. The presence of the Royal Malaysia Police (PDRM), who monitored the event, further demonstrated our commitment to safety and legal compliance.
We would also like to extend our appreciation to Breeze Magazine, DBKK Holdings as the venue partner, as well as the support from Team PERMOS, Nasi Kuning Sandakan, Domino’s Pizza, and Dong Sin Noodles, all of whom contributed to the success of this program.
CULT also supports the statement by the President of Persatuan Permotoran Borneo Sabah (PERMOS), Datuk Mohd Fadil Fathullah, that this event was conducted in accordance with the established guidelines and laws, without causing any disorder as alleged. We reaffirm that safety and legal compliance were our top priorities throughout the event.
