The Medical Museum is one of many attractions that can be found in Universiti Malaysia Sabah (UMS). Officiated on the 14 April 2010, the museum is managed by the Faculty of Medicine and Health Science (FMHS). The Medical Museum was an inspiration of the faculty’s first Medical Dean, Professor Dr Osman Ali, who has a vision to provide general knowledge about the human body to visitors.

The museum boasts a huge collection of anatomical models (specimens and mannequins) which covers the nine systems in our human body namely:

  • Urinary and Reproductive System
  • Nervous and Endocrine System
  • Blood Lymphatic System
  • Gastrointestinal System
  • Cell Tissue and Metabolism
  • Musculoskeletal System
  • Cardiovascular System
  • Skin
  • Microbiology and the Respiratory System.

The Medical Museum has a goal to be a symbol of aspiration, determination and success for UMS to be at the forefront of medical education in the country. One of the most fascinating collections is a full-size anatomical human being preserved using plastination technique. This form of preservation is rarely seen, and visitors will surely have a memorable visit.
