KOTA KINABALU: Sabah observes April 2 as an additional public holiday, coinciding with the official birthday of the Tuan Yang di-Pertua Negeri Sabah, which is on March 30.
Chief Minister Datuk Seri Hajiji Noor said that with March 30 being the official governor’s birthday, the next day (March 31) is declared a public holiday.
“The State government has set that if the following day is also a Public Holiday, then April 2 will be another public holiday for Sabah as per the Holidays Ordinance (Chapter 56) Vol I,” he said in a statement on Wednesday (March 26).
