When you think of Sabah, you probably picture our gorgeous islands with turquoise waters and soft sandy beaches. But have you ever heard of our floating island? Imagine a day where, instead of just relaxing under the sun, you are out in the open sea, playing, laughing, and discovering a whole new side of Sabah. In just a short 15-minute boat ride from Jesselton Point Ferry Terminal, you will find yourself at JSK Floating Island, a one-of-a-kind experience set in the heart of the Tunku Abdul Rahman Marine Park.

Where do I even begin?
Most people make a beeline for the inflatable water park, and trust us, you will want to as well. From a distance, the obstacle course looks playful, but once you are on it, get ready to run, climb, slip, and splash your way through. It is hilarious, challenging, and guaranteed to leave you laughing, especially if you bring friends along. The more people you have, the more competitive and exciting it becomes. Not only does it test your balance and teamwork, but it also gives you a full-on workout (both from the obstacles and from laughing non-stop). Once you’re done, head over to the Sea Walking station. After a quick safety briefing, you descend the steps, put on your helmet, and merge into a whole new world. Schools of fish glide past from every direction, with a few cheeky ones even giving you a playful nibble. All around, colourful corals create a mesmerising backdrop that feels alive with movement. Standing on the man-made platform, you will even get the chance to feed the fish as they gather around you. The entire experience is magical, almost like being welcomed as a guest in their underwater home.
When you are ready to slow things down, grab lunch at their café, then kayak out onto the calm blue waters. The view of the marine park as you paddle is something you will want to take your time with. If you’re feeling adventurous, grab a snorkel and explore the underwater world up close, where more marine life is waiting to be discovered.
For our young adventurers, there is a play pool and an underwater observatory where kids can safely enjoy the experience.
What’s New at JSK?
A new highlight at JSK Floating Island is the Sunset Escapade, where you can experience the magic of golden hours on the open sea. As the sun dips below the horizon, painting the sky with shades of orange and pink, you will be treated to live performances, delicious food, and refreshing drinks prepared by JSK Café.
